Gillian Buckley, Photographer
Gillian Buckley is a commercial photographer based in North County Dublin; her studio is five minutes from Dublin Airport, between Swords and Ashbourne.
Gillian has been a professional photographer for over 20 years and has accumulated a huge amount of experience. She is equally comfortable working in the studio or on location, with digital or film, natural light or artificial.
Her work is extremely varied and she is adept at many different kinds of photography: product, industrial, fine art, business portraits, food and drink, architectural, interiors, etc. Occasionally she even takes photographs of cats and children!
Gillian's clients include some of the leading design agencies in Ireland, and she has undertaken work for some of the country’s best favourite brands. She has carried out assignments in various locations around Ireland, the United Kingdom and France.
What Gillian brings to all her work is a keen eye for detail, a perfectionism that is second to none, and an enthusiasm for her work that creates happy clients and long business relationships.
The Photography Studio
Gillian's Studio is located on the farm where she lives, in North County Dublin. The landscape around there is one of gentle rolling hills that create a tranquil atmosphere, which suits her calm and patient approach to lighting and composition.
The studio is 20 x 35 feet with a 12 foot ceiling, complete with overhead lighting rig. It's ideal for building sets - kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms have all been built within it - with plenty of room left over to set up lights and cameras.
The studio also has access to a working kitchen, changing rooms, wireless internet and ample free parking.
Whether it’s large format film, or medium format digital photography, Gillian has always invested in the very best camera and lighting equipment. Her lights are predominantly Bowens and her cameras are Sinar, Hasselblad and Canon.
Clients can avail of accommodation at either Kettle's Hotel or Roganstown Hotel & Country Club, both of which are just a few minutes away.
